Stan Lee appears at Ant-Man premiere
Stan Lee is feeling just fine, if his red carpet appearance at the Hollywood premiere of Ant-Man Monday night is any indication.
TMZ reported earlier that the Marvel icon called 911 Sunday morning and was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
A representative for Lee did not confirm the report, except to point to Lee’s Ant-Man attendance. And the comics honcho credited with creating or co-creating scores of characters—including Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and, of course, Ant-Man—seemed his usual joking self on the red carpet, talking comic books and flirting with the on-camera host.
“All I want is an excuse to stand with my arm around you like this,” he told Marvel host Tamara Krinsky. He also talked about the classic Ant-Man comics, his film cameo and advice for aspiring comics creators.
“Stop wasting time watching this and start drawing, for crying out loud,” Lee said. “That’s my advice. You want to be an artist? Draw. You want to be a writer? Write.”
