Casting Net: Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano lead 'Swiss Army Man' cast

- Indie flick Swiss Army Man picked up a strong trio for its leads: Daniel Radcliffe, Paul Dano, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The plot for the surrealist comedy follows a man who is stranded in the wild, where he finds and befriends a dead body. Production begins in July. - Anna Gunn has been tapped to star in a Wall Street film, but it sounds like her character will have more of a conscience than Jordan Belfort. Equity follows the two-time Emmy winner (Breaking Bad) as an investment banker mired in scandal and reconsidering the field she’s chosen. The movie marks Meera Menon‘s directorial debut. [Variety]
- Michael Landes will share the screen with Matthew McConaughey in Gold, a forthcoming mining drama. The Final Destination 2 star will play a Wall Street banker in director Stephen Gaghan‘s film surrounding the Bre-X gold-mining scandal. [The Hollywood Reporter]
- If you want a Moriarty fix, Andrew Scott is heading to Swallows and Amazons. The Sherlock villain has been cast in the film, based on the children’s book series by English author Arthur Ransome. Scott is set to play a secret agent named Lazlow who is tasked with tracking down Jim Turner (Rafe Spall), based on Ransome. The story centers on four children in 1929 who set up camp on an island they discover is the territory of two girls who sail the Amazon, and a rivalry forms. Philippa Lowthorpe directs from a script penned by Andrea Gibb. [Variety]
- Kylie Rogers, a cast member of The Whispers on ABC, will star as Jennifer Garner‘s daughter in Miracles from Heaven. The film is adapted from Christy Beam’s memoir about how her daughter beat a debilitating, deathly illness.
