Kanye West interrupted on stage during Glastonbury show by British comedian Lee Nelson
Kanye West’s much-hyped performance at this year’s edition of Glastonbury Festival was interrupted on Saturday night after British comedian Simon Brodkin ran onto the stage as West performed “Black Skinhead.” West briefly stopped the show as Brodkin was escorted away, before then restarting the song.
Before the incident occurred, Brodkin — who performs in character as Lee Nelson — tweeted a photo of himself that referenced an online petition signed by more than 134,000 people in protest of West’s headline appearance at Glastonbury over a “rock band.”
After the disruption, Brodkin posted a picture of himself onstage next to West. “I Kanye’d Kanye,” he wrote. “That was for you @taylorswift13.”
But despite the interference, West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, thought the performance was a smash.
