The death of Oscar-winning composer James Horner was determined to be an accident, according to Ventura County deputy medical examiner Zeb Dunn. Horner was also identified Thursday as the pilot of the crashed plane near Santa Barbara, Calif. on Monday.

Horner crashed his single-engine plane in Cuyama, Calif. The crash started a one-acre brush fire at the site. The composer, who was nominated for 10 Academy Awards during his acclaimed career and won two for his work for Titanic, was 61
