Miranda Lambert's Smokin' and Drinkin' lyric video premieres
Miranda Lambert chose her Little Big Town collaboration, “Smokin’ and Drinkin'” as her next single off Platinum, her 2014 release. Monday, she’s premiering the official lyric video exclusively on EW.
According to the singer, the tune puts her in a nostalgic mood, “This song was written by three amazing songwriters and I connected with it the first time I heard it. It reminds me of hanging out with friends, partying when life still felt innocent, simple and fun. This is definitely my version of a party song, puts me in that kind of mood.”
The track was written by Natalie Hemby, Luke Laird and Shane McAnally and, as the story goes, Lambert had the track on hold when the “Girl Crush”-quartet were choosing tracks for their 2014 release, Pain Killer. In the name of compromise (not to mention good music), Lambert asked Little Big Town to sing on the track. They performed the song live for the first time at the CMA awards last year.
