True Detective's Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn play True Confessions on The Tonight Show
Was Colin Farrell a suspect in an attempted murder case? Did Jimmy Fallon’s grandma get the host’s head unstuck from a fence using mayo? And… did Vince Vaughn once command the stage for a performance of The King and I?
All of these questions were answered on The Tonight Show, when Fallon had the two True Detective stars play “True Confessions.” Each actor chose from one of two envelopes, each with a piece of information about them inside. The other two at the table had to guess whether the info was a truth or a lie.
The game actually provides us with a surprising amount of information about all three, including that Farrell does a decent Robert Durst impersonation and that Vaughn’s rendition of “Getting to Know You” is pretty solid itself.
Don’t expect crime solving to be so lighthearted for Farrell and Vaughn, however, when True Detective premieres on June 21. For more on the show, read EW’s review of the second season premiere and hear from music director T Bone Burnett about the show’s original music.
