Sixties pop singer and Twenty Feet from Stardom star Darlene Love is making a return to the spotlight with a new album this fall.

Love, who was one of the many backup singers featured in the Academy Award-winning documentary, is teaming up with E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt for Introducing Darlene Love, which will be released via Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool label in partnership with Columbia Records.

The album, which is slated for an early fall release, will feature songs written by a host of big-name collaborators including Van Zandt, Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen, Jim Webb, Linda Perry, Joan Jett, and more.

“Darlene’s legendary status is well deserved but I felt the time was long overdue to show a younger generation WHY she has earned that reputation,” Van Zandt said in a statement. “Partnering with Columbia Records is a dream come true because now I know the world will hear her.”
