One Direction recently said its post-Zayn Malik material will sound different, but it’s hard to imagine more of a divergence than Malik’s post-One Direction material. On Monday, British rapper Mic Righteous uploaded a cover of Rae Sremmurd’s “No Type”—with a soulful hook by none other than Malik.

The clip first appeared on SoundCloud and was swiftly removed, but People has confirmed that it is indeed Malik on the track.

The cover of the very un-One Direction hip-hop duo wasn’t out of the blue. A brief clip surfaced via Vine earlier this year, but only hinted at the final cut’s finesse. Malik has stayed vocal since leaving One Direction in March, erasing all evidence of his membership with the group from Twitter and dyeing his hair.
