UPDATE: On Twitter, John Stamos thanked fans and both the Beverly Hills Police Department and Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles for support.

“Thanks to everyone for their love & support,” Stamos wrote. “I’m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care.”

EARLIER: Full House alum John Stamos was arrested and given a citation for driving under the influence in Beverly Hills on Friday night, the Beverly Hill Police confirmed to EW.

Stamos was pulled over around 7:45 p.m. local time at Beverly Drive and South Santa Monica Boulevard after mutliple residents had called police about an erratic driver in the area. Stamos, the lone occupant in the vehicle, idenitifed himself and was taken to a local hospital after the police officers decided he might have a medical condition. There, his intoxication was confirmed, and Stamos was arrested and given a citation for DUI. The 51-year-old was released into the care of the hospital for further treatment, and his court date is set for Sept. 11.

Stamos, who has built a large social media presence, is best known for his role as Uncle Jesse on Full House, a part he’ll reprise in the forthcoming Netflix series, Fuller House. (Stamos will also play the lead on the Fox comedy Grandfathered, set to debut this fall.)

Representatives for Stamos were not immediately available for comment.
