YouTube star Ingrid Nilsen, known as “Miss Glamorazzi” to her more than 3 million channel subscribers and 800,000 Twitter followers, came out Tuesday in an emotional video titled “Something I Want You to Know (Coming Out).”

In her 20-minute video, the 26-year-old lifestyle vlogger walks her viewers through why she needed to make the video, how she first “knew,” and what her life has been like as a woman who entered into relationships she couldn’t feel fully appreciate because she was grappling with this secret. “I felt the need to take this part of me and put it in a cabinet and lock it up very tight and shove it in a corner, because I was basically seeking love and approval,” she explains, “and so I decided that I would start living this life that I didn’t really want to live. But I was gonna do it because I wanted to be loved, and I wanted to be accepted.”

Nilsen’s viewers and followers have largely been supportive, leaving positive comments on her channel. But to naysayers, Nilsen explains that it has felt like being “in a prison” to have had a secret she hasn’t told her audience. “It’s a part of my story, and I’m not ashamed of who I am,” Nilsen says in the video. “I’m proud of who I am, and I’m not going to apologize for who I am anymore.”
