It looks like season 2 of Kingdom is finally giving Alvey something he’s needed for a while: a friend. And no, not some local hotel owner he bonds with over drinks. This time, he’s getting a real friend.

EW has learned exclusively that Mark Consuelos will guest star in the new season of the hit DirectV show. Consuelos has landed a multi-episode arc as Sean Chapas, an ex-fighter and an old friend of Alvey’s. As fans of Kingdom know, the show follows Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo), an ex-MMA fighter, and his gym, where he trains Ryan Wheeler (Matt Lauria), as well as his sons, Jay Kulina (Jonathan Tucker) and Nate Kulina (Nick Jonas).

But rumor has it Chapas’ arrival could affect the future of Navy St. gym—which by the way, has grown in size since both Ryan and Jay’s victories in the season 1 finale. Also on deck this season: Jay finds a new obsession, Ryan defends his title, and Lisa (Kiele Sanchez) turns her attention to managing a new female fighter, Alicia, played by Natalie Martinez.

As for what hasn’t changed: Nate continues to battle with his sexuality, and Christina (Joanna Going) continues her struggle with her sobriety.

Kingdom, created by Byron Balasco and produced by Endemol Shine Studios, has already been picked up for a third season, but will return for its second go-around on DirecTV’s Audience Network this fall.
