Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said she was working on the book for a new musical during a panel hosted by Entertainment Weekly’s Danielle Nussbaum at the ATX Festival on Saturday in Austin, Texas.

“I’m writing the book to a musical right now,” Sherman-Palladino said. “It just happened.”

Sherman-Palladino said the musical would be original-ish. “It’s based on a movie that nobody would’ve seen because it’s not an American and it’s nothing like it… It’s original. I’m just gonna say that.”

In addition to the unnamed production, Sherman-Palladino also said she was writing a pilot for the “lovely Amazon company” but offered no concrete details.
