OWN has pulled its planned Jay Williams reality series from the network’s lineup ahead of its premiere.

The docu-series was set to focus on the life of Williams, an Atlanta-based music producer and father of 34 children—by 17 different women—who previously appeared on OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life. His appearance on the program, about the life coach and relationship guru, spurred some controversy. His own program was set to be a spin-off from that show.

“OWN has decided not to move forward with the Jay Williams docu-series,” OWN said in a statement. “The series aimed to follow Jay as he worked to put his life and fractured relationships in order and to hold him accountable every step of the way. The intention was to help Jay work to establish new connections with his family, his children and the mothers of his children. Production has ended and the series will not air.”

The series was to be produced by OWN and Evolution Media and was set to premiere in September.
