Jason Alexander is taking it back. On Twitter, the Seinfeld actor apologized at length to his former co-star Heidi Swedberg after taking a dig at her acting ability on Wednesday’s Howard Stern Show.

Alexander (who played George Costanza on Seinfeld) had explained that the reason Swedberg (who played his fiancée Susan) was shockingly killed off from the NBC hit was because he couldn’t find a way to successfully work with her.

“I couldn’t figure out how to play off of her,” Alexander said of the actress, who later went on to roles on Gilmore Girls and Bones. “Her instincts for doing a scene, where the comedy was, and mine were always misfiring.” He also suggested the rest of the show’s cast likewise found her “f–king impossible.”

On Thursday, Alexander posted a more detailed explanation and an apology:

We can only hope Swedberg replies: “You can stuff your sorries in a sack, mister!”
