'Everest' trailer is a storm of intensity
Hope you’re not afraid of heights: The new trailer for Everest is here.
Jason Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Josh Brolin star as climbers who attempt to summit Mount Everest, but after storms and other disasters, they get stranded on the Himalayan peak. Everest is based on the true story of a deadly 1996 tragedy in which eight climbers were killed, events which also inspired Jon Krakauer’s book Into Thin Air. Keira Knightley and Robin Wright also star.
Everest was shot on location in Nepal in the foothills of Everest, as well as in the Italian Alps. “We had to carry our equipment on donkeys,” director Baltasar Kormákur told PEOPLE. “It was in January. Not only are you sick because you’re acclimatizing, and it’s really hard, because you’re not used to that thin air, [but there’s] also the cold.”
Everest will be released in theaters Sept. 18.
