Pretty soon, you’ll be able to drive down “Billy Joel Boulevard” in Long Island. Home to the piano man, New York State Senate passed a bill to rename part of Route 107 in the Town of Oyster Bay, New York after the local hero.

“Even after all his success, he still supports his hometown community,” Sen. Jack Martins of Nassau County said in a bill sponsor memo.

The bill passed last week, and proposes that the stretch of South Broadway from East John Street to West Old Country Road take the new name. (True fans who know all the words to “We Didn’t Start The Fire” will have some familiarity with this location. For others, a map below will help sort out any confusion.)

Joel recently opened a motorcycle shop in Oyster Bay, but unfortunately its location is not on Billy Joel Boulevard.

This is a big summer for Joel and Long Island. The singer will perform the last-ever show at Nassau Coliseum on Aug. 4.
