From SNL to the VMAs, live music on television has a tendency to sound like garbage. Luckily, there’s an oasis in the music-on-TV desert, and its name is Guitar Center Sessions. Since its inception in 2010, the show (which airs on Friday nights on DirecTV’s Audience Network, channel 239) has hosted a cavalcade of hot new chart-toppers, fresh innovators, and rock legends, including Joan Jett, Weezer, CHVRCHES, Billy Idol, Soundgarden, Wiz Khalifa, and Jimmy Cliff.

The current season’s lineup includes California dreamers Best Coast, outlaw picker Dwight Yoakam, ascendent pop star Nick Jonas, and punk survivors the Offspring. This Friday (June 5) will feature a full set by Lifehouse, who just released their seventh album Out of the Wasteland and still play the hell out of their signature hit “Hanging By a Moment.” Check out Lifehouse performing their current single “Hurricane” on Guitar Center Sessions in an exclusive EW premiere below.

Guitar Center Sessions airs Friday nights at 9 PM Eastern on DirecTV’s The Audience Network (channel 239). Lifehouse’s full show airs this Friday, June 5. Catch them on the road this summer starting June 19.
