Caitlyn Jenner appeared for the first time as a woman on the cover of Vanity Fair on Monday.

Previously known as Bruce, Jenner revealed Caitlyn as her chosen name after months of Bruce referring to his soon-to-be identity as “her.” But according to People, the 65-year-old former Olympian has known her new first name for a long time.

“The name is what he always loved when he thought about this [female] part of his life,” a source said.

Jenner did not disclose her new name in the 20/20 interview she did with Diane Sawyer in April, saying, “The media would go crazy.”
