Will Empire‘s fan base continue to grow with season 2? It looks like we’ll find out come September.

According to star Taraji P. Henson—who just took home one of EW’s season finale awards—Cookie and the gang will return to their mics (but more importantly, our television screens) when the hip-hop drama’s second season kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m on Fox.

Henson first announced the news on Twitter; her tweet was quickly followed by confirmation from the Empire writers.
