Demi Lovato has helped launch a new mental health campaign, Be Vocal: Speak Up For Mental Healthopening up about her own struggle with bipolar disorder.

According to People, the initiative is a joint effort between five mental-health organizations. The aim is to spread awareness and encourage those living with mental illness across the United States to speak up about their condition.

Diagnosed with biopolar disorder almost five years ago, the singer told People she is “living well” with mental illness, saying, “Life is really, really great. I have a brand-new puppy and I’m able to not only take care of myself but take care of him as well. I’m living my dream. Life is pretty amazing.”

Lovato just launched Safehouse Records with Nick Jonas and manager Phil McIntyre, and is currently working on her fifth studio album.
