Why Chris Pratt is ready to leave Hollywood
Few actors have as much heat on them as Chris Pratt does at the moment. The star of Jurassic World (and cover subject of EW’s Must Issue) is already booked up for the next year thanks to a remake of The Magnificent Seven, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and possibly the sci-fi romance Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence.
But the actor admits he’s eager to get out of Hollywood for the sake of his 2-year old son, Jack. “I don’t wanna raise Jack here,” admits Pratt, who’s married to Mom star Anna Faris. “Anna and I are both from Washington State. We both had pretty simple lives and upbringings. I want Jack to just be able to be like, ‘See ya buddy. Go outside. Come back later.’ And also, I like the country and clean air and things just slowed down.” But he adds, “We will stay in L.A. as long as Anna is doing her show.”
Pratt’s goal is to make life as simple for Jack as possible. Says the actor, “I’d like to give him some normalcy. It’s gonna be weird for him to have famous parents. It’s gonna be a burden for him sometimes, you know? But it’s all relative.”
