This week's cover: Chris Pratt is dino-mite in 'Jurassic World'
No other actor is having as great a year as Chris Pratt, and so naturally he’s the cover of EW’s annual Must Issue, celebrating the things we love this summer. Pratt’s had a meteoric rise thanks to the gigantic success of last summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy. He now has his shot at his second blockbuster with Jurassic World, opening June 12.
Formerly best known as the lovably dim-witted Andy Dwyer on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, Pratt soon found himself presenting at the Oscars and attending the Super Bowl. “I had one party I got invited to that was like an episode of The Twilight Zone,” he says. “It was like every celebrity I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I thought it was going to be like Eyes Wide Shut and all of a sudden masks were gonna come out.”
You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn’t want to have him at a party these days. “You can’t fake what he has,” says pal Chris Evans, who costarred with Pratt and his wife, Anna Faris, in the 2011 rom-com What’s Your Number? “He’s a very genuine, very sincere, very humble person. And I think most people are clever enough to see through people who are putting that on. That’s just who he is. That’s what’s so damn likable about him.”
Adds his Jurassic costar Bryce Dallas Howard, “Basically at this point I’m like, ‘Chris Pratt for president.’ ”
