M.I.A. says she can’t release her latest video because of “cultural appropriation.”

“I’ve been told I can’t put out a video because it’s shot in Africa,” she tweeted Monday. “Discuss.”

According to another tweet, the video in question is a one-take shot of the best dancer “in the wide world,” and was filmed in West Africa’s Ivory Coast. She did not specify which song the video is for.

M.I.A. went on to retweet multiple fans arguing that she “should be allowed to share cultures just as [she] always [has].” But sharing cultures hasn’t always turned out so well for the Sri Lankan rapper: The Morocco-set video for 2012’s “Bad Girlscame under fire for its portrayal of Muslim women.

M.I.A.’s label rep did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
