Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson just faced the most daunting—or in the words of Chris Harrison, “historic”—Bachelorette night one yet: The two wrangled for time with their suitors instead of having their suitors fight for them, because it was up to the men to vote on who would walk away with this season’s title. Considering that twist, both Kaitlyn and Britt had plenty to say on their Bachelorette(s) debut.

Luckily, they’ve blogged their thoughts for People, with Kaitlyn writing she “was definitely not jumping for joy” at the thought of competing against Britt, and Britt revealing how she couldn’t stay away from another shot at love. “The fear of further rejection or misunderstanding lurked in the back of my mind,” she wrote. “But louder than my fears, I heard a resounding ‘yes.'”

Head over to People for their thoughts: Read Kaitlyn’s blog here, and Britt’s here.
