It’s a tough time to be a One Direction fan. In March, Zayn Malik announced he was leaving the band, and last week, he and Louis Tomlinson started sniping at each other on Twitter. But according to Tomlinson, the spat has been resolved.

“It’s just one of those things that Twitter’s great for connecting with the fans, but also if you feel like saying something you probably shouldn’t, it’s also good for that — or bad,” he told James Corden on Thursday’s edition of The Late Late Show.

The group also commented on Malik’s departure. “At first, we were a little bit angry. We were surprised,” Liam Payne said. “But I think we all knew the general vibe Zayn was feeling.”

The remaining members of One Direction agreed they never considered replacing Malik, and each hope for his future success. “We wish him the best where ever he get to,” Payne said. “There’s no hard feelings.”
