  • Kristen Stewart will lead Personal Shopper, a ghost story set in the fashion underworld in Paris. Personal Shopper is directed and written by Olivier Assayas, who directed Stewart in Sils Maria. This film will feature similar themes to Sils Maria and will have a genre/fantasy component. Shooting will begin in the late 2015 in Paris. [Variety]

  • Michelle Williams will join Matthew McConaughey and Edgar Ramirez in Gold, the Weinstein Co. mining drama. Williams will play McConaughey’s wife in the film, which is inspired by the story of the 1993 Bre-X Minerals mining scandal, during which large amounts of gold were reportedly discovered in the Indonesian jungle. The film will start begin shooting in June in New York, New Mexico and Thailand.   • Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) has been cast as the female lead in the romantic comedy Heaven Sent. Gort will play Sarah Fitzpatrick, who discovers that her name is absent from a list of people waiting to be admitted to heaven. Without the time to come to terms with her own death, Sarah’s sent back to Earth as an angel to find out why she was left off the list. And it happens the only person who can see her is her ex-boyfriend. Shooting will start later this month in Los Angeles. [Deadline]

  • Katie Garfield has joined the cast of The Birth Of A Nation, written, directed by, and starring Nate Parker. She will be playing Elizabeth Turner, daughter of a plantation owner who develops a friendship with the wife of slave Nat Turner (Parker). [Deadline]

  • Anna Friel will play Pierce Brosnan’s wife and James Frecheville his nemesis in the tech-thriller I.T. Brosnan plays Mike Ryan, a self-made man whose company is on the verge of revolutionizing the aircraft-leasing business when his relationship with a young tech consultant (Frecheville) takes a turn for the worse. The consultant begins to stalk Mike’s daughter (Stefanie Scott) and use technology to threaten revenge on his family, his business and his life. The film is in pre-production in Dublin. [Deadline]
