The most prestigious cover in sports gaming tapped its new star Wednesday. Whoever graces the cover of each iteration of EA Sports’ Madden NFL joins a select fraternity of football stars—but also one set to be jinxed. This year’s winner is the youngest ever: 22-year-old New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham.

He was a rookie last season and torched the league. Everyone saw his amazing catch during primetime, launching him into a rarified hype stratosphere. (Go ahead and give the grab another watch, because it’s probably been too long.) He was the runaway rookie of the year despite missing four of 16 games; he was that amazing.

The second-year player edged out tight end Rob Gronkowski of the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots in the final vote. Madden NFL 16 will be released Aug. 25.
