Justin Bieber’s image rehabilitation tour continues thanks to Seventeen. The Canadian pop star graces the cover of the next issue, out next Tuesday, and it comes with a mea culpa:

“I was rebelling a little bit,” he told the magazine. “I was getting cockier and cockier. I didn’t have people to check me.”

He continued, “I looked back and I was disappointed in myself. You have to own up to the mistakes. You have to say, ‘I’m sorry if I’ve let you down.'”

This isn’t Bieber’s first “I’m sorry” in recent months. After March’s Comedy Central roast—where nothing was off limits for the cadre of comedians—Bieber apologized and vowed to act better. Only his future actions will determine whether Hannibal Buress, a roaster, sees his wish realized.
