With the news that American Idol will be coming to an end next year, just about everyone related to the reality singing competition behemoth have shared their thoughts. Host Ryan Seacrest, who has been with the show since season 1, released a statement about the show’s end, while Fox executives have discussed why “it was not an easy decision.”

But of all those involved, the No. 1 question for fans is: What does Brian Dunkleman think?

Dunkleman, who co-hosted the show in its first season with Seacrest but did not return in the following years, has finally spoken:

But all hope of a Dunkleman/Seacrest reunion is not lost. Okay, it probably is, but fans can still dream. According to Vulture‘s Joe Adalian, Fox co-chairman Dana Walden answered a question about the possibility of a reappearance.
