Rosario Dawson returning for 'Daredevil' season 2, may appear in other Netflix/Marvel shows
Fear not, Claire Temple fans: Rosario Dawson will be returning to Hell’s Kitchen in 2016.
Marvel announced today that Dawson will return to her role in Daredevil‘s second season, which will debut sometime next year. Marvel also announced that Dawson’s return is part of a larger deal that will allow her to appear in any of the other Marvel series coming to Netflix, which include AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders series that will bring all of these heroes together.
(Spoilers for Daredevil season 1 follow.) Temple last appeared in the season 1 episode “The Path of the Righteous,” in which she decides to leave Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), and her future is left uncertain. But as Marvel’s Head of TV and executive producer for the show Jeph Loeb noted in the official announcement, “Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”
Steven DeKnight, showrunner for the first season, has mentioned that the show only had Dawson for a limited number of episodes, though this new announcement certainly indicates we haven’t seen the last of Temple in the fight for Hell’s Kitchen.
Daredevil will return to Netflix in 2016 with a pair of new showrunners.
Matt Murdock, the blind superhero, gets his own television show via Netflix.
