HBO has ordered Big Little Lies, a new limited series drama writen and produced by David E. Kelley, with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon set to star and produce.

Big Little Lies will follow the lives of three mothers who all have children in kindergarten. Their lives begin to unravel, however, amid a series of events that eventually leads them to murder.

Witherspoon, Kidman, and Kelley will all serve as executive producers. Witherspoon will do so through Pacific Standard along with Bruna Papandrea, while Kidman will produce through Blossom Films with Per Saari.

Big Little Lies is based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty. She will also serve in a producing capacity on the series. EW previously confirmed that Witherspoon and Kidman had optioned the rights to the novel earlier this year.
