Idris Elba might not be Bond, but he’s making a strong case for a role in the next Fast and Furious movie.

The actor just broke an 88-year-old record by reaching a top speed of 180.361 miles per hour in a Bentley Continental GT Speed. The record run was completed as part of his Discovery Channel docu-series, Idris Elba: No Limits, which airs in July. The four-part series will follow the Luther star as he races around the world.

“I’m absolutely elated to have broken the ‘Flying Mile’ at Pendine Sands,” he said. “It’s an honor to have taken on the challenge, and to successfully follow in the footsteps of the illustrious Sir Malcolm Campbell.”

The previous U.K. record was set by Campbell in 1927. And after conquering the beaches of south Wales, Elba might be hitting warp speed on the USS Enterprise next. Simon Pegg reportedly wrote a role for him in the new Star Trek film.
