Natalie Imbruglia’s music video for 1997’s “Torn” quickly became a classic of sorts—so Mikal Cronin paid homage to it with his music video for “Turn Around.”

Kristen Schaal plays Imbruglia in the video, which is an incredibly accurate reenactment of “Torn” (playing the two side-by-side is highly recommended), and comedian Kurt Braunohler is her sweater-wearing partner. But while “Torn” is full of angst, the “Turn Around” video is more focused on making things light—for example, someone wearing a Kool-Aid costume busts through the wall and inspires a joyful dance party at one point.

Cronin’s third album, MCIII, is in stores Tuesday.
