John Oliver had four important words for viewers when discussing the pressure of standardized tests on American students on Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight: Here comes the monkey.

As it’s testing season, Oliver dedicated a large portion of his show to the exams that strike fear in the hearts of students across the country. “Standardized tests: The fastest way to terrify any child with five letters outside of just whispering the word ‘clown,'” the comedian said.

While some schools are really trying to make testing seem like fun, with the help of dancing monkeys and pep rallies, the anxiety placed on kids, Oliver argues, might be too extreme. In other words, the dancing monkey has gone too far.
