Tame Impala has a third cut from its upcoming album Currents. “Disciples” clocks in at just under two minutes and provides another yet another dimension of the direction—or multiple directions—the band is now taking. Where “Let It Happen” was an eight-minute psychedelic freakout and “Cause I’m A Man” was a cornball jam, “Disciples” recalls some of the band’s earlier crunchy guitar work—but with some ’80s synths layered in for good measure.

Frontman Kevin Parker released the song in a somewhat unconventional way. After fans failed to ask about new music in a Reddit AMA last night, Parker posted, “I’m waiting for someone to ask me if they can hear a new song…!”
