The mystery behind “mail … kimp?” has finally been solved. Speaking at the first-ever podcast upfront, Serial co-creator and executive producer Julie Snyder revealed that the voice in the MailChimp ad who memorably says the company’s name wrong belonged to 14-year-old girl from Norway.

Last year, MailChimp marketing director Mark DiCristina told Yahoo! the commercial was created in a collaboration between his company and the Serial producers. “We gave them the copy for the ad, and then they made the ad itself,” he said. “Dana Chivvis [Serial producer] took the copy and went out in the streets of New York and recorded a bunch of different people reading the ad and then cut it together the way that she did.”
