On Thursday, the internet was fascinated by #HowOldRobot. Using Microsoft’s “face detection API,” the website http://how-old.net attempts to predict the age and gender of people from photographs. It sometimes works! (Lorde, as it turns out, is still often a teenager.) And sometimes it doesn’t. (It thinks Beyoncé is 38; she’s 33.) But how does the #HowOldRobot handle movies with the word “age” in the title? In honor of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Age of Adaline, both out in theaters now, we decided to find out.
