All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.

Bruce Wayne has been Batman for 76 years, with occasional breaks to account for broken backs and apparent death that was actually just time travel or something. Whenever Batman isn’t Batman, Batman always get replaced by a different Batman, usually someone younger and hipper possessing hip young arm rockets. From this tradition cometh next month’s Batman #41, which promises the debut of an “all-new Batman,” with a mysterious new identity and a suit of armor that bears a vague resemblance to the Cyber-Samurai line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys.

The new Batman is arriving in the DC Universe courtesy of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, the writer-artist team whose current run on Batman features one of the best takes on the character in decades. So maybe it’s best to keep an open mind about this new Batman, especially since Snyder has already admitted to The New York Times that Bruce Wayne’s “presence will be a big part of the story.”

Anyhow, we’re clearly in a moment for New Superhero Models, what with Thor being a lady and Captain America being Falcon and probably someone somewhere pitching a Death of Wonder Man story arc. But let’s talk to the experts. What do you think of the new robo-Batman, Batfleck?
