'Outlander' exclusive clip: Jamie gets a kiss from Claire before he leaves Lallybroch
Last week, Outlander ended with Claire (Caitrona Balfe) waking up alone in bed—only to find Jamie (Sam Heughan) surrounded by men holding pistols to his head. Though it’s not entirely clear what ensued, judging by this new exclusive clip from this Saturday’s episode (airing at 9 p.m. on Starz), no shots were fired.
Instead, we see Claire bidding her new husband farewell as he prepares to leave Lallybroch on an expedition of some sort. It’s obvious that Claire is experiencing a considerable amount of fear and frustration in letting him go—after all, leaving Jamie runs the risk of exposing himself to the redcoats—though she’s gamely trying put a brave face for the sake of her bonny Highlander.
“Haste ye back,” she tells Jamie, coyly adding, “or else I will follow you. I will drag you back by your thick red curls. And you won’t like it one bit.”
Or will he? The moment is full of the sexual tension and romance that’s set the tone for the series to date
