  • Shredder has arrived. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will feature Brian Tee as the bad (non-turtle) ninja who’s not a fan of our pubescent reptilian heroes. Megan Fox (April O’Neil) and Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick) run back their roles from 2014’s TMNT, while Tyler Perry (Baxter Stockman) and Stephen Amell (Casey Jones) are newcomers. Michael Bay’s in the producer role again, but David Green is the new director in charge of Paramount’s project. [Variety]
  • Aubrey Plaza rejoins her Scott Pilgrim vs. the World costar Anna Kendrick in an upcoming Fox comedy. The actress has been added to Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, the Zac Efron and Adam Devine-starring Fox flick. The reunions continue: Plaza and Efron recently finished filming Dirty Grandpa together. Mike and Dave tells the story of two brothers who put an ad online to find dates for a wedding, settling on plus-ones who can out-party them. Jake Szymanski is on board to direct Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien‘s script. [Variety]
  • Director Roland Emmerich decided to break some news for himself: Maika Monroe (It Follows) will be in Independence Day 2. [Twitter]
  • Hilary Swank and Tom Wilkinson will star in Denial, an adaptation of Deborah E. Lipstadt’s book—History On Trial: My Day In Court With A Holocaust Denier—written by David Hare. It tracked Lipstadt’s libel trial against David Irving, who accused her of libel, after she said he was a Holocaust denier. Mick Jackson is the movie’s director. [Deadline]
  • The cast of Wolf Who Cried Boy grows. Dwight Henry is added to the crew, flanking Barkhad Abdi, Torrey Wigfield, and Peter Carey. Henry will play Koney, a junkyard owner in a film that focuses on a teenager getting caught up in the world of crime. [Deadline]
  • Molly Shannon, Paul Reiser, and Tim Boardman are enlisted in indie dramedy Miles, teaming up with the already hired Missi Pyle and Stephen Root. The plot focuses on a young gay man who joins the girls volleyball team to earn a scholarship and get out of his small Illinois city after finding out his deceased dad wasted his college money.
