'Edge of Tomorrow' star joins the 'Arrow'/'Flash' spinoff
Franz Drameh has joined the cast of the upcoming Arrow-Flash spinoff, EW has learned.
The Edge of Tomorrow star will play Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete whose pro career was derailed by an injury. Now making ends meet as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation with the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.
Though the character’s name is not recognizable from the comics, that doesn’t rule out the possibility that the British actor is playing a familiar face. Theories on his character can go in the comments section below, but I’ll start: Maybe this is the new other half of Firestorm, since Robbie Amell is not yet signed on to appear—though Victor Garber is.
The untitled drama—which is being developed by Arrow and Flash executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, as well as Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter—stars Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory, Heat Wave), Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), Ciara Renee (Kendra Saunders, Hawkgirl), Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter) and Caity Lotz… though it’s unclear whether she’ll be portraying a new role, since her Arrow character, Sara Lance, died earlier this season.
