WGN America’s acclaimed Manhattan has turned to a Dallas Buyers Club actor to join the fray. The network announced Wednesday that Griffin Dunne will take up a recurring role in the show’s second season. The Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actor stars as journalist Woodrow Lorentzen, who stumbles upon Los Alamos, New Mexico—including the secret crew trying to successfully detonate the world’s first nuclear bomb—and a shot at personal redemption.
Earlier this month, Mamie Gummer was given a recurring role on the show too, while CSI veteran William Petersen was added as a series regular in March. Production has already begun on season 2. Manhattan is expected to return later this year.
