TV just got a little more customizable.

Verizon FiOS has officially announced a plan to let customers put together an individualized package of TV programming. Verizon customers will be able to pick two packages from seven different genres: Kids, Pop Culture, Lifestyle, Entertainment, News & Info, Sports and Sports Plus, with additional packages available at $10 each per month.

ESPN has previously objected to this plan; the Washington Post cited a representative as saying, “Among other issues, our contracts clearly provide that neither ESPN nor ESPN2 may be distributed in a separate sports package.” No word yet on their response to today’s announcement.
