Years ago, Rihanna and Chris Brown recorded a track titled “Put It Up” together, but the song was never released—until this weekend when it leaked online.

The former couple collaborated before on songs including 2012’s “Birthday Cake” and “Nobody’s Business,” but Brown told MTV in 2013 that he wanted “Put It Up” to be a departure from those tracks.

“I wanted to do an R&B record with Rihanna because I didn’t want it to be the same four-on-the-floor, pop,” he said. “At the end of the day, that’s what they’d expect from us, so I wanted to do more of a record that nobody really heard her sing on as far as that genre.”

Brown and Rihanna publicly began dating around 2009, and Brown was arrested soon after for assaulting her. He went on to plead guilty to the felony assault and was given five years probation, which he completed in March.
