'Ugly Betty' cast reunites to celebrate America Ferrera's birthday
Though ABC’s Ugly Betty has been off the air for five years, the love between the Suarez family and the Mode crew is as strong as ever. Over the weekend, several members of the cast gathered to celebrate star America Ferrera‘s birthday, looking very happy to be back together.
Vanessa Williams—who played conniving diva Wilhelmina Slater—posted a photo of co-stars Judith Light, Mark Indelicato, Tony Plana, and costume designer Patricia Field posing with the birthday girl. Indelicato tweeted out another photo of just him and his on-screen aunt, calling her his “heart and soul.”
Following the end of the beloved series, Ferrera went on to star in the animated film How to Train Your Dragon, as well as its sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 and made several appearances on CBS’ The Good Wife. The actress is set to star and produce the NBC pilot Superstore.
Correction: An earlier version of this piece misidentified Betty Suarez and Justin Suarez as siblings when the two characters were actually aunt and nephew.
