Image Comics’ Roche Limit has been described as Blade Runner meets 2001: A Space Odyssy, though perhaps a more apt description would be the epitome of a science fiction noir crime drama. A triolgy told in five issue increments, Roche Limit is a high-paced action story about human evolution, and what happens when we push ourselves too far in terms of change—or don’t push ourselves at all.
Writer Michael Moreci collaborates with an impressive creative team, including Kyle Charles (art), Matt Battaglia (colors), Ryan Ferrier (letters) and designer Tim Daniels, who all help bring his story to life. “There’s not a whole lot of comics doing what Roche Limit is, channeling Philip K. Dick, Aliens, Blade Runner, and other sci-fi greats that are the stars I steer by,” Moreci says. “We’re really going after an experience that speaks to bigger things about life and existence and all that. We’re keeping on the path we embarked on with volume one and delivering the sci-fi book it seems people have been looking for.”
A trailer has been released in anticipation of the first issue of the upcoming second volume, due out in comic shops May 6. Check it out below—along with some preview pages.
