Last summer, Batkid Begins had an uncertain future. Filmmaker Dana Nachman created an Indiegogo page to fund the movie, and it worked: She raised $109,630—over $9,000 more than the initial goal, and enough for Batkid Begins to arrive in theaters June 26.

Batkid Begins focuses on Miles Scott, a young leukemia survivor who had one request: He wanted to be Batman for a day. The Make-a-Wish Foundation—and hundreds of San Francisco residents—made it happen, and footage of little Scott saving “Gotham” quickly went viral. The film will chronicle what led up to that day, and what happened after Scott became an Internet-famous superhero.
