Fuse orders 'Transcendent' docu-series about transgender cabaret performers
Fuse television network has just ordered a new docu-series, Transcendent, which will document the lives of a group of transgender cabaret performers in San Francisco, the network confirms to EW.
Six episodes of the program, produced by World of Wonder Productions, have been ordered for a fall premiere.
Transcendent joins an ongoing slate of reality shows about transgender people, young and old, following the success of Amazon’s Transparent, Laverne Cox’s beloved character on Orange is the New Black, and the ongoing news about Bruce Jenner’s transition. Read EW‘s piece about the phenomenon here.
