So far this season on Broadchurch, it has been clear that there’s an undercurrent of tension between Jocelyn Knight (Charlotte Rampling), the Queen’s Counsel on the side of Latimers, and Sharon Bishop (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), who has been defending Joe Miller in court.

Though details of their lives have seeped out, specifically about the state of Sharon’s son, audiences will learn a bit more about their chilly relationship in tonight’s episode, in which Jocelyn tells Sharon “a man died because of your boy.” Sharon asks why Jocelyn didn’t take his case. “Because I didn’t like you enough,” Jocelyn says.

Broadchurch airs tonight at 10 p.m. on BBC America.

The British import explores the personal lives and investigations of Alec Hardy (David Tennant) and Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman).
