Avril Lavigne opens up about Lyme disease battle to People: 'I thought I was dying'
Avril Lavigne opens up about her battle with Lyme disease in People‘s latest cover story, and while she may be feeling “more like herself,” she’s still on the long road to recovery.
The Canadian singer had been feeling sick for several months, but it was during a trip to Las Vegas last October to celebrate her 30th birthday that she felt exceptionally awful. Months later, she was diagnosed.
“I was bedridden for five months,” says Lavigne, who has been recovering at her home in Ontario. “I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk and I couldn’t move. I thought I was dying.”
